Blogging Commences Effectively in University of Nigeria Nssuka


It is no longer news that the University of Nigeria Nsukka has made it compulsory for all her students to own a blog of their own. So far, many students are still wondering why the University management made such rule. This mandate has made students of the University  Community to ask series of questions and laid tremendous complains.
 Some questions asked by students based on blogging include;

  • What will I benefit if I become a blogger?
  • If everyone in UNN starts blogging, who will then visit each others blog?
  • How will these blogs help or affect the school Management?
The above questions and many more were questions by students.
  To this effect,I have decided to clear students minds via this post on the importance of owning a blog and its importance to the school management.

 As we all know, a blog is a website that allows users to reflect, share opinion and discuss various topics in form of an online journal sometimes letting readers comment on their post.
     A blog is also an interface that allows the user share his/her opinion to the general public via the internet. Some persons within the University Community are very talented in essay writing, art designing, singing and many more. A blog also give the user  the opportunity to share his/her talent(s).
               Benefits of Owning a Blog 

  1. Popularity:  A blogger is prone to being famous (world wide). The blog address can be seen on various search engines.
  2. Reliefs the owner from been bored: A blog can be used to ease boredom.
  3. Means of Generating income: Nowadays, the main reason while people go into blogging is to make /generate income. The blogger generates income by advertising for business organisations and other organisations.Income can also be generated by gaining traffic i.e increase in the number of persons that visits the blog daily, weekly. monthly or yearly.
  4. Self business Improvement: A business man/ woman can also involve his or her self in blogging for the purpose of advertising and improving business.


The benefits are not limited to those mentioned above , there are many more benefits that owning a blog can offer.


The issue of who visits your blog depends on the nature and quality of your post and your blog. The more valuable contents your blog have, the more the traffic gained.
  Worthy of Note: Irrespective of your location in the world, your blog can be assessed anywhere, in the world so far there is assess to internet.

Plant Science and Biotechnology UNN Chapter Departental week

UNN is growing day by day both academically, socially and spiritually. Like we all know, all works and no play makes jack a dull boy. To this effect, the department of Plant Science and Biotechnology organised her departmental week. The week started yesterday which was the Cooperate day for the department. The most interesting day in the week is today which is the Old School Day.    The old school day is a day set aside to appear on old school attire. Team UNN Today had the opportunity to cover some of their hilarious appearance.
